Highlights of the Guideline for Recapturing of Contributors’ Information

The National Pension Commission (“PENCOM” or “the Commission”) has released a guideline that requires all PFAs to embark on a Data Recapturing Exercise for all contributors registered on their Data base. The salient points in this guideline are:

1. The Data Recapture Exercise is to enable PFAs obtain complete and accurate data of all RSA holders (both active and retired) in line with the provisions of Section 23(e) of the PRA 2014.

2. The Recapture Exercise will further enable PFAs to capture the 10 fingerprints of their RSA holders and their National Identity Number (NIN) to ensure compliance with NIMC’s minimum biodata and other biometric requirements and the use of NIN as a unique identifier for all Nigerians

3. Please be informed that, in addition to the completion of a data recapture form, every RSA holder is required to provide ALL required documents listed in Appendix 1 before such a recapture can be validated.

4. We are obligated to ensure that recapture of RSA holders’ information is carried out efficiently, without any financial burden and with minimum physical discomfort to the contributors.
